Writing – 1st person

Kia ora bloggers, WALHT change a story to first person.

Yesterday, my teacher was reading a story called (The Three Little Bears Sort of) to us and we had to write a story about it but we had to make it into first person. Here is my story that me and my friend made.

I was out walking looking for berries for my pancakes. When I stumbled across an old rustic cottage, with the door swinging open. I knocked, rat a tat tat. No one replied. I got worried, “Who would leave the door open and not be home?

I thought to myself. I quickly entered the cottage to check everyone was okay. I know CPR.

I hope I can use my first aid skills. I heard no sound when I entered the cottage. I noticed three stacks of waffles, with cream and syrup on top of it with milk on the side. One looked big and steam coming out of it,  the medium one looked like nothing because there was no steam on top, but the small one looked just perfect. It looked very tasty (So you know what I did) I ate it all up. After eating the yummy waffles I walked around the living room when I saw some chairs swinging out of nowhere (So you know what I did) I sat on a big chair but it was too hard so I sat on the medium chair but it was way too itchy but I saw a small chair that might could fit me so I sat on the small chair and it suddenly broke.

Rewriting a Tale

Kia ora bloggers, today WALHT change a story from 3rd person or narrator to 1st person.

First, we had to pick a fariy tale we know so we can rewrite it. Second, we had to brainstorm a fairytale from another characters point of view. I chose to do mine from Little Red Riding Hood. Next we had to add words to describe my character Little Red Riding Hood-got older, brave, wanted to give grandma food.

After that we had to aadd the pronouns I need to use for 1st person perspective-I, we, me, my, our. Then I had to check  we have the main events from the story and number in order to remind me to use in paragraphs. Then we had to write the open paragraph, here is my first paragraph.

In the morning I woke up thinking about my Nana. She lived in a city apartment. I liked visiting because she was the only person I still couldn’t beat in a game of chess. When I got to the kitchen Mum said “If you are going to Nana’s take this box of cookies and flowers to her.”

I found it tricky because I was making my own story and it took me so long to think about.
